I do business in 19 states, and as I travel on business I always give myself at least a day where I am going to go to parks and museums and local sites. I have so found it fun when someone tells me, for example, that they have never been in New York City, to travel there at the same time to be their tour guide and take them to places NOT on the standard tourist maps! I am going to do Travels With Phil as a series of these posts!

This one is in Boston. It is the Mass Avenue bridge leading from Boston to Cambridge right where MIT is. For many years the engineering fraternity maintained it by freshening the paint. Not anymore. BUT the most wonderful part is that twice in the decades since the Massachusetts Department of Transportation have repaved the bridge, and carefully lifted all the sidewalk segments, preserved them and replaced them! What a bunch of wonderful people. You MUST walk the bridge if you make it to Boston!
